After a recent windows update some Windows 10 and Windows 8 computers are no longer able to connect to the internet. This sometimes looks like a problem with your internet provider but is a problem in the update. The following will correct this problem in most cases.
1. Right mouse Click on the windows menu button, bottom left and select search. Where it says “Ask me anything” Type “cmd” Right mouse Click Command Prompt and select ‘Run as administrator’ as below.
2. Type the following commands, pressing return/enter after each one –
netsh winsock reset catalog
netsh int ipv4 reset reset.log
3. Reboot the computer.
